WHO, WHAT & WHERE
Laura Ashbrook Compton finds using all three of her names as a standout branding tool. In fact, anyone who knows her has simply accepted that fact and abbreviated her call-out name to LAC. Spending much of her time outside of college chasing design jobs in startups after moving to Seattle, LAC not only designed a few brochures, but also found writing copy to be a creative and challenging exercise. Often asked to write her co-worker's bio, or to edit any outgoing company literature, LAC frequently accessed her roots in home schooling and the indispensable notion of the King's English. A creative thinker and efficiency driven individual, LAC has outspoken ideas and desires a sense of success in the world of intellectual thought while still able to create. Having managed design proofs via freelance designers, apparel print ready files and company-wide social media presences, LAC is a valuable asset to a demanding work environment. Just don't give her ketchup.
OBJECTIVE of SORTS
I need to be in a room with colleagues who enjoy an intellectual minefield, who think in imagery and typography and who get excited about an idea that could overturn mediocrity. These people seem to come from challenges that require an imaginative process. A process I enjoy wrapping into my work. I see my world in terms of composition and those I find inspiration from challenge that composition, reward clever copy and recognize,as I do, our visual world can be set afire with twists of phrases.
